ASA is advising the National Grid on the aviation-related implications of the proposed Chesterfield to Willington overhead power line and the possible operational impacts for nearby airfields and airstrips. The potential alignment of the line is in the earlier stages of consultation, with construction due to start in 2028. The project follows similar assessments for the National Grid for three other new power lines as part of the Great Grid Upgrade for the distribution of offshore wind energy across the country.
