Alan Stratford and Associates is providing consultancy advice to Ramsgate Town Council for their response to the Airspace Change Proposal (ACP) for the re-opening of Manston Airport in Kent. If the cargo hub project were to proceed, flights to and from the airport would overfly Ramsgate causing significant noise disturbance for many residents.

It’s ridiculous to allow this to happen it’s obviously a backhander agreement to line peoples pockets in the government, otherwise how on earth this be allowed.

Like many of us on the Neathercourt estate, we are in our senior years. Our health isn’t the best it could be. We are extremely worried About the air pollution and the affect it would have on us. Many say if you are worried move. But, that’s easier said than done. We used to live in Hertfordshire, Stanstead Airport was best to us, we saw it progress from a very small airfield to what is has become. Before they could expand and take in more flights, they had to demolish certain houses as they would have been too near to the airport. With all the new houses being built I don’t understand why there is one rule for one and not for another. Ramsgate has now become a very pleasant place for families holidays, is Manston really going to be allowed to destroy the peace and quiet of our lovely area.

Ramsgate is a beautiful town with a ever growing and thriving community. Many of it’s heritage and listed buildings won’t and can’t have double or triple glazing! Low flying planes straight over our town harbour and beaches at the capacity River Oak say they plan for will ruin the town for residents and visitors. Quite simply this is the wrong location for flight path at low levels. Technology may have improved ?? and be required but at the one and only Ramsgate consultation I was told older v noisy cargo planes would be taken over by previous holiday planes! ??? So not the latest and would not be as quiet. This would be a huge expense for cargo firms to replace as well so am not convinced. I can hear planes in the distance from my house so dread to think what it could be if Civil Aviation Authority gives the hopes for flight path planned the go ahead!

I am against the re-opening of the Manston airport due to noise pollution.
