Alan Stratford and Associates has been commissioned by Surrey Heath and Runnymede Borough Councils to undertake a study on the potential implications of closure of Fairoaks Airport in Surrey. A planning application has been submitted for a new 1,000 home garden village on the airport site, although a heliport would be retained if the planning application is successful.

The development at Fairoaks does not enjoy GARDEN VILLAGE STATUS that was reject by the Homes and Communities Agency It is a speculative Housing development followingbthe sale of some 40 acres in 2015 which if approved will result in the destruction of an irreplaceable strategically located GA/Business Airport to the SW of London
